A good, powerful drill.
I bought this drill because I needed one that wasn't limited by a battery cycle, had a keyed chuck (so bits wouldn't slip), and was reasonably fast (1200 rpm). I use it with with wire brushes for cleaning rust and for drilling holes in metal. I have been very happy, but would be happier if it were more balanced (handle a little closer to the center of mass) and a little lighter. Otherwise, I feel I got the value I paid for.

I was surprised and disappointed that DeWalt and Ridgid didn't have similar products to choose from.

Will this drill also take a 1/2 bit?
Pat W on Feb 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It's a 3/8-inch drill, which means the chuck is intended for a 3/8-inch drill bit. I checked and it will accept up to 13/32-inch, but nothing larger. The only way it will take a 1/2-inch bit is if you use a bit that is stepped down in order to fit into a smaller chuck, but that's not recommended if you're drilling into something hard, like metal. If you have to drill a lot of 1/2-inch holes, even in wood, it's best to get a 1/2-inch drill.
