great upgade
First off i am a communication contractor I have the original m12 impact driver and use it all day at work driving drill point drywall screws along with a variety of other screws, some lag screws and installing communication devices i am very happy with it for small jobs but when it came to bigger projects it couldn't hold up.When the fuel came out i was a little hesitant about the claims, there was no good reviews out there ,if it was truly that much better than the original .I debated on the m18 but i had to much invested in the m12 line so i bit the bullet and bought it ,and i have been very happy with my decision .First off it feels lighter, more balanced, its shorter, the battery lasts much longer, and has more rpm's witch i could tell right away it drives screws so much faster and the impact mechanism doesn't engage as quickly, the belt clip is a great addition i can have it on my belt all day and sometimes forget it's there.I performed a test when i got it, i took the original with a 3.0 xc battery and had #10 4" deck screws with 3 2x4"s it could barley drive them .I then used the fuel with the same xc battery no problem drove it right in and sunk the head about 1/2 an inch before i stopped ,could have keep going. I am not disappointed at all it is very comparable to the m18, now maybe the m12 line will get more respect from the 18 volt boys.Bottom line its worth the upgrade and i can't wait to really use it this summer on some projects around the house.Way to go Milwaukee another great tool.

My go to product
This should be the standard issue impact driver for all construction workers. It the perfect balance of power and weight. When coupled with the new 2.0 battery you r not even aware of its 12 volt rating. I own nearly every Milwaukee product, seriously, and this is my work horse and most used tool on site. The previous generation was a great tool but it came up short on power and on some days you could easily sail through half a dozen batteries. Where that gun lagged this one has prevailed. I can keep up with most 18 volts out there and not be so bulky nor heavy. I favor compact any thing and this is the quintessential compact driver on the market. The 2 speed mode really helps. Just today I was installing hardware in a bathroom and the lower speed enables better control and stops you from over tightening fasteners. When its on mode 2 watch out it will just abut go through anything without hesitation. The only down side is the new technology you just never know how things will age but I trust Milwaukee and I believe it will be just fine. Don't hesitate or waste money on anything else. Join the next tier in compact tool performance.

Describe Yourself:
The 2nd generation is even better....
Super light, great for dry wall screws, lags, tek screws. The light on the front is great. The speed control setting #1 is great for 6/32 screws and installing duplex electrical boxes. This generation 2 unit is sleeker an has better: light, power, and battery life. I have no negative comments. My favorite tool in my bag. : )

This tool ROCKS ! !
They fixed all the complaints i had on the original 12v impactor. More power, belt clip , better grip on handle, more balanced , and quick load chuck. We hooked an old brushed 12v together with the new fuel and ran them opposite directions , it spun that brushed one backwards with ease.

Great new.addittion to the 12v line
Two speeds was unexpected bonus. Drive screws in speed 1, drill holes in speed 2. I have an 18 volt 1/4" impact driver and this is every bit as powerful as that one is, maybe better because of the high torque speed 1. LED light stays on for 20-30 seconds after you stop pulling the trigger. Helps you seeing next spot without pulling the trigger.

The best 12v impact
I used this product to set up dishes for satellite tv, run cable around the houses.
the great thing is how light is it and small,
it fits in tiny spaces and how u can change the speed from 1 to 2 that is great.
I dont have any cons, everything is good.

I can't say enough about the M12 line. Best in class, and best over the bigger ones in my book. This has all the power of the Dewalt 20v line without the weight and size and has a ton more tools in the M12 lineup. I've had the Multi-tool for several years now and it is still going strong no matter what I do with it. I would recommend this to everyone.

Powerful but light and compact
I own several 18v and 12v Milwaukee drills and impacts, and this tool is my second favorite next to my 18v Fuel 1/4" hex impact. When I'm tinkering around the house, this is usually the tool that I grab first. (Only because my 18v would be too powerful unless I dial it down) I highly recommend this little powerhouse.

Battery life is great and the 2 speeds are nice to have. we haven't found any fault with them at all, think Milwaukee Tools did a great job.

New Vs. Reconditioned

What's the difference between New and Factory-Reconditioned?

Factory-Reconditioned products have been returned to the manufacturer and are restored to like-new operating condition; they go through a rigorous testing and inspection process. Plus, they offer a significant savings vs. new.
  • Reconditioned products may have minor cosmetic blemishes or scratches that do not affect item performance.
  • Reconditioned products may not come with all of the consumables the new version comes with (bits, sanding pads/papers, cases, etc.).
  • Both come with a manufacturer warranty and are covered by our Money Back Guarantee; New is 30 days, Reconditioned is 120 days.
