Melting collar
I’m an avid hobbyist and love the cordless aspect. However after a few uses the collar started to melt, and like in other reviews once it’s hot And you apply a little pressure the whole tip moves. Very disappointed. What’s even more disappointing is it’s not a serviceable part.

Broken after a month
Preforms great for small soldering jobs and very happy with the overall idea of this tool. But after only a month of use on small soldering jobs, the plastic holding the tip melted and now the tip won't securely tighten. Worst yet when you apply any light pressure on the tip makes it move and the whole tip and heating element broke. I strictly use Milwaukee for my company and this did not hold up to Milwaukee standards.

Third time I used it Melted
I loved it till the plastic collar melted after just the third time using it, just like other people noted. Brand new & never dropped.

Almost perfect!
I solder daily either in the shop or on a job site. This iron is amazing! Feels good in the hand, heats up quick and last a decent amount of time. My only problem is there are only two available styles of tips and you can’t use other standard tips with this iron. For the work I do I could really use some other common styles of tips especially a ultra fine tip.

Works Well. Sturdiness Not Quite there yet
As a soldering iron this is the best soldering iron I've used in 20 years as a technician.
The heat is enough to easily solder Two-Way radio bases and heavy guage automotive wire with the chisel bit.
The LED light is an amazing addition that makes working under a dash so much easier.
Like others though the collar for the tip broke. Milwaukee Australia said the part is not a replaceable part. Unfortunately after the collar broke the heating element broke afterwards.
So it may not quite be strong enough in a profesional trade environment unless you're extremely careful with it.

Excellent Iron But....
Purchsed this iron 1.5 years ago, I use this at least 10 times a week for small wire jobs, still on the original tip! only disappointment is the plastic collar holdind the tip in place has melted makijng the soldering iron garbage. Checked the replacement parts diagram and the part is not shown as a replacement part.. Seems like this is a common problem with this iron why is the part not available?

Melted like others
I was using this for small jobs, wiring harness install in an old car, just little soldering things and loved the fact it was so small and convenient. The last time I used it the tip melted off, it is just over a year old and not used more than a handful of times. Very disappointing.

poor thermal protection
I have now replaced this unit three time due to the nose piece melting and failing i have tried repairing it but lack any compound that can handle the heat. Need to be designed better.

Well worth the money
This soldering iron replaced my butane powered one that I have used the past 6 years on my service truck. I wish I had gotten this sooner, it will heat up really quick and at only 90 watts it doesn't seem possible. I have used it repairing circuit boards and soldering #12 together.
