Love the power and even the 2.0 battery lasts all day,, Only thing that I have found is sometimes the nails wont feed with out a little push and I have not called the hotline yet to see if this is a problem or if it needs lubed somewhere. and I would still buy another may be a 15 gauge or a straight nail next

Milwaukee addict, always the right tool
I used this product to put an accent wall in my fathers basement for his 60th birthday, which he plans to update with a new entertainment center. The accent wall was really just practice because my wife and I just had our first child 2 weeks ago and plan on building a new house within the next 2-3 years where we will do a lot of the work ourselves. I can see this tool being perfect for trim work. I have nothing negative to say about it.

Very convenient tool especially for simple repairs
This nailer is very handy especially for repairs and small jobs. I don't have to get my air compressor and hoses out. An air hose nailer may be a little easier to use on larger jobs because I also use a small gauge nailer that is nematic

Did Not Live Up to My Expectation
I bought this finish nailer to put the finishing touches on a bedroom that I was redoing ceiling to floor. Most reviews I read and videos I watched said that this nailer drove finishing nails into soft and hard woods with out issue or the need to tap off nails that it didn't completely drive. I say between 30 to 35% of the nails I drove need to be set, even though I was driving into standard pine studs. I played with depth setting and still couldn't get the nailer to drive all the nails. In the past I rented a Hitachi pneumatic nailer and never had an issue with under driven nails.

I'm a big fan of Milwaukee tools and own more than five M18 tools, but this nailer was a let down. I would not recommend this tool

Used for the trim out in an entire house. Worked awesome. Would definitely recommend this to anyone. It is a little on the heavy side but that’s a trade off for not having a tangled house dragging around.

Just wondering why?
Just want to start by saying I have been a Milwaukee fan for years and have been very successful converting dewalt users over to the Milwaukee brand. Not hard to do considering the quality, performance, and warranty. I have many Milwaukee tools and will be a customer for life. That being said I purchased the 16g nailer went to the parking all excited and shot about 30 2” senco nails into a pine 2x4 every single nail was a different depth many stuck out and twice it shot double nails. I adjusted the depth to the max basically everything I could think of and couldn’t get any consistency whatsoever ever. I immediately returned to gun for a full refund so I wasn’t out any money but was kinda disappointed do to the fact that I wanted that tool for several years and when I finally got it it didn’t work. That has been the ONLY Milwaukee product I’ve ever had let me down EVER! I understand sometimes ya just get a faulty tool it happens but after that I have just been gun shy to purchase another one. I use gas nailers still and would love to transfer over but I think I’m gonna wait till the next gen model comes out. Milwaukee is still my number one go to brand just make that clear. Any info on that tool would great. Thanks

What nails do you use with this nail gun?
A shopper on Feb 6, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Model 2742-20 will accept any 16 gauge nails. We attached the information below from the manufacturer:

Fastener Length...................... min 1.25" / max 2.5"
Collation Angle................................................... 20°
Fastener Size (Diameter).................... 16 Ga / 1.6 mm
Magazine Capacity.........................................110 nails
Will this nailer take any brand of angled 16ga nail?
A shopper on Mar 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I started with this nailer trying to use Pasload brand 2 1/2 inch nails.....It would misfire half the time....I tried DeWalt nails and it shoots fine....Both brands of nails claim to be the same degree angle but after placing one section of Dewalt nails atop a section of Pasload nails, it's obvious there is a difference. The difference is small, however it's enough to cause misfiring, with the longer nails.....I have used 1 1/4 inch nails both Pasload and Dewalt brand without any problems.
I've tried everything to get this nailer to set nails. Depth adjustment doesn't work, different nail types and sizes don't either. Anyone else experiencing this problem? Is there a solution that I am not aware of? I bought this gun for convenience, but have put it away and gone back to my pneumatic!

New Vs. Reconditioned

What's the difference between New and Factory-Reconditioned?

Factory-Reconditioned products have been returned to the manufacturer and are restored to like-new operating condition; they go through a rigorous testing and inspection process. Plus, they offer a significant savings vs. new.
  • Reconditioned products may have minor cosmetic blemishes or scratches that do not affect item performance.
  • Reconditioned products may not come with all of the consumables the new version comes with (bits, sanding pads/papers, cases, etc.).
  • Both come with a manufacturer warranty and are covered by our Money Back Guarantee; New is 30 days, Reconditioned is 120 days.
