This was about 8 months ago. I use this at least 5 days a week for at least a couple hours at a time. This impact has been going strong and has even out lasted a few of the fuels that have had to go back for service. It has surpassed the fuel in driving self-drilling screws and tapping large 1/4+ inch holes for bolts.
I am more than pleased with this impact given the price. The only thing I have noticed is that it gets hotter than the fuel faster. It is also a bit larger, and not as smooth. I will be getting another fuel soon but this will always be a great backup.
Love the power, light, red lithium battery system
This is a great impact. You will not go wrong in buying it. So far I haven't used it much. I built a deck with it. Entire deck, 1 charged battery. It did everything the DeWalt did. Just as good.
A couple things to point out. It only has 1 led. DeWalt has 3. My main problem with the design. The grip isn't as comfortable as the DeWalt or Makita. It is large at the top, tapering toward the battery. As I use it, my hand slowly slides down the grip. Not much, but enough that very quickly my finger is pushing on the bottom edge of the trigger. I wear X-large gloves. I can only imagine this would be worse if someone had smaller hands.
The front of the impact gets really hot. Even after about a dozen screws, it we hot enough I wouldn't want to hold onto it. (Of course you don't have to touch it there) The DeWalt and Makita never got that hot.
Final determination. I'm going to give it to the guys and buy myself a new DeWalt. The grip is just so much more comfortable.
Other than that, you can't go wrong.
