Details

The MILWAUKEE M18 SWITCH TANK 4-Gallon Backpack Sprayer delivers the industry’s first interchangeable tank design with no manual pumping. Designed to meet the needs of professional landscape maintenance, the battery-powered backpack sprayer delivers instant, constant and adjustable pressure up to 120 PSI and a 25 ft. spray distance. The 5-mode pressure adjustment knob adjusts the pressure between 20 – 120 PSI for a wide range of applications. The M18 REDLITHIUM XC3.0 Battery (sold seperately) provides up to 12 tanks of spraying per charge. The sprayer has a dual diaphragm pump for longer pump life and Viton seals for increased durability against harsh chemicals. The sprayer tank has a wide mouth opening for easier pouring and a strainer that filters debris from getting into the tank. The backpack frame has wide straps for added comfort during extended spraying applications and a handle for convenient transport and storage.
The 4-Gallon Sprayer is made up of two components – the M18 SWITCH TANK Powered Base and the SWITCH TANK 4-Gallon Sprayer Tank Assembly. The Powered Base includes the motor, battery compartment, and REDLINK electronics. The interchangeable Tank Assembly includes the pump, hose, and wand. The isolated pump, hose, and wand design allow different tank assemblies to be added for different spraying applications, eliminating cross-chemical contamination. It also allows the tank assembly to be replaced at a lower cost of ownership compared to replacing the entire sprayer. The Powered Base is compatible with the SWITCH TANK 4-Gallon Concrete Sprayer (49-16-28CS) and 4-Gallon Water Supply (49-16-28WS) Tank Assemblies. The M18 SWITCH TANK 4-Gallon Backpack Sprayer is part of the M18 system which is fully compatible with over 175 tools.

Downfalls to consider
The spray is a quality peace of equipment. The downsides are the sprayer thinking the tank is empty with a half gallon left in the tank, the sprayer wand is straight which is very awkward if you need to spray the top of plants taller than a 12 inches, and its weight I struggle to get it on my back unless it is on the truck tailgate or a table.

We love this sprayer. What a relief to not have to continuously pump a handle while trying to spray the foliage. Keep making great products!

More convenient than "hand pump as you go" backpack sprayers, but about twice as heavy as a pump type backpack sprayer when empty. Handle switch, to start the integrated tank pump, is good and very convenient.
I also own the water tank to water new plants in remote areas and the nozzle on the water tank does not have an integrated on/off integrated switch like the spray tank, so you have to manually feel for the master switchto turn the water on/off and that is frustrating because you cannot see the switch and must feel around (fumble around) for it and make several attempts to find the rocker switch even though your hand is right at the master switch. The other chemical spray tank with wand, you just turn on the master switch and leave it on because the wand switch controls the pump, not so with the water tank.

I own most everyting Milwaukee Tools sell in the Fuel series and couldn't be more impressed, but as for the water tank I would have liked it beetter if they installed a hose like the chemical tank to allow operator to turn water on/off with the wand switch without having to fumble around for the master switch.

How well does it hold up to sodium hydroxide cleaners?
A shopper on Jul 9, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Your question will be best answered by the manufacturer, who can provide you with the accurate information. The number to reach the technician is 1-800-729-3878.
Can you buy extra tanks?
A shopper on Jun 1, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes, of course, that is the whole purpose of this design. I purchased the water tank as well. The spray tank with wand has an integrated pump control on the wand trigger as an on/off switch for the pressure volume set on the base unit. The water tank does not have an integrated switch on the hose nozzel, requiring you to turn the base unit master switch on and off to control the flow of on/off
