Charger malfunctioning right out of the box.
Received this charger from a pack out kit and like others have mentioned, the red light indicator never goes away. The meter on the battery shows fully charged and plugging the battery in another rapid charger shows the fully charged status correctly, so there must be something wrong with these multi-voltage chargers.

junk, like my other Milwaukee tools
I plugged a 12v battery into the charger today and the charger light flashed red and green a few times the died. Now neither the 12v or 18v side works at all. I’ve had nothing but trouble with the Milwaukee tools I “invested” in a couple years ago.

Max charge current 3A - that's not serious!
Charger was produced in the period when 3.0Ah batteries were used. But later, when 4.0Ah and even 5.0Ah batteries have appeared charger wasn't updated, so "1-hour charge" statement is not true anymore.

Works Great Less Cluter
I like this charger for the fact that it reduces the clutter on my work bench it works just like it was described I do wish that it could charge both batteries at the same time but I cannot complain because it does say it only charges one at a time

Will this charge the 2656_20 1/4 in impact driver?
Edward on Jul 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes this should work. I have the same impact driver with the 18 volt li ion batteries and use this charger to recharge them.

I just purchased a Milwaukee impact driver/drill set with the 48-59-1812 charging station. The first battery pack I plugged in shows a back and forth green / red flashing light... I kept the battery charging for 2 hours (it is properly seated), but there is no change to the charging status (2 bars) and the light is still alternating between red/green. I removed the battery and seated the second battery, which after only a few minutes, showed me a constant green light and 4 bars (fully charged)...

Is it normal for the light on the charging station to blink alternately to red/green while charging (the operators manual is not clear)? How long should I expect to charge the M18 Red Lithium battery out of the box?
JS on Jul 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The back and forth green to red is telling you the battery you installed
in the charger has reached a critical heat mode (battery is to hot),
pull the battery and let the battery cool down...then start over
again...

I have a Milwaukie V18 lithium -ion batteries and need a charger is this it, 3 terminals in the battery 2 are together and 1 is by itselfs
steven on Aug 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: yes for the 18v you need the dual charger that charges both 12v and 18v
batteries.
the 12v come as usually the small round cylindrical with the larger 12v
also having a box end.
The 18v's are square cubes and larger but the charger has a space visible
in the picture.
