Seems like a great hammer, but....
Bought this for roofing/sheathing to replace my 20 oz. steel hammer after having some elbow problems. this is a seriously awesome hammer for someone used to huge framing hammers, but not my application. Overall weight is the SAME as my 20 oz. steel!!! Returned for a 12 oz. stiletto w/ poly which works better and is much lighter, but it is still a big hammer w/ long handle. If you need maximum hit, the big stilettos are for you - otherwise a 10 oz. stiletto w/ shorter handle might be the ticket for lighter duty jobs.

Wish I had bought this years ago.
This hammer has been on my wish list for ages, but for $220-280 depending on vendor, it was just a wish list thing. Found it here on sale for about $50 less than the usual low end price and thought, "Just do it!" It felt a bit awkward at first, but within the first 15 minutes of use, it was like part of me. The lack of arm fatigue and the ability to drive nails is awesome. Day 1 of use was on a roof that the home owner should have left the cutting down of a large Maple to a professional. Smaller job so we hand nailed the shingles. 1-3/4" roofing nails required one set tap, and 1 swing to set each through 1/2 CDX, and a few that hit rafters needed a second whack, but if I had known which ones would be hitting rafters, I would have actually added a little "extra" to the swing and still did it in one. I have always been partial to Plumb hammers, because they were very well built and balanced, for very little cash. If I remember correctly, Plumb was known as "The Carpenter's Choice" back in the 70's. This Stiletto would have saved many sore arm days if I had only got it sooner. The amount of swing for the amount of drive produced it far better than any I have ever used. I know most of us use cordless or air nailers now-a-days, but for when we don't, or those who still do it the old fashioned way, this is the way to go, hands down.
